McKellen: "2 Elves and another Wizard" Confirms Elrond

Sir Ian McKellen has posted a new article on his official blog about the Hobbit production called "2 Elves and another Wizard." He covers a lot of ground as he brings everyone up to date on the recent casting news that non-readers of this blog or The One Ring may not be aware of. He reports that Martin Freeman (Bilbo) has started his leave of advance to go film the second season of Sherlock. In the meantime the 13 dwarves and Gandalf remain at work. He also confirmed that Hugo Weaving is returning as Lord Elrond. Previous reports already indicated this as likely but this is the first report I have seen that states it as fact. McKellen also talks about Bret McKenzie (Lindir) joining the cast. Last he welcomes Sylvester McCoy (Radagast the Brown). Click here to read the full post.
