While not yet ready to pre-order, we now have
the release date and cover art for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition. The edition will be released on November 3, 2014 with an additional 25 minutes of footage added back to the film. The 3D edition will be a five disc set but beyond that no specific details but assume it continues the detailed behind the scenes at making of the film that began with the Lord of the Rings trilogy and continued with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
