Singer Chosen for The Hobbit End Credits

According to the NeilFinn.news website, it seems that Peter Jackson has chosen the singer to the end credits sound for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  Neil Finn is a New Zealand singer who was part of the band "Crowded House".  It seems he has done well in New Zealand and UK but an unknown in the United States.  YouTube has some videos if interested in sampling his music. The Lord of the Rings trilogy end credits were "May It Be" by Enya (Fellowship of the Ring), "Gollum's Song" by Emiliana Torrini (Two Towers), and "Into the West by Annie Lennox (Return of the King). While this news has not been officially confirmed, it does fit Peter Jackson's tendency to want to showcase New Zealand talent and locations whenever possible.

  1. Unbelievable that someone as talented and with a 35 year music career as Neil Finn is called 'unknown' but just to help those without a clue, Neil has an older brother name Tim,They are two DIFFERENT people(it is common for Neil to be called Tim and vice versa and for it to be claimed they are one and the same). The song 'Hey Now' is in fact called Don't Dream It's Over.
You may like to explore Neil's work with Split Enz,Crowded House,The Finn Bothers,Pajama Club and his solo works along with his charity projects such as 7 Worlds Collide I and II as well as his support for countless other charities etc etc etc

  2. Kudos to Peter Jackson for his efforts to support NZ talent. However, Neil Finn is hardly an unknown outside of the Antipodes! Crowded House sold out many concert halls in North America, particularly during tours for the albums "Woodface" and "Together Alone". Perhaps better received in my native Canada than in the US, they nonetheless made an indelible mark on charts - and hearts - all over this continent.

    1. Crowded House should have been HUGE in America,if only they had decent promotion I have no doubt they would be a household name there just as they (and Neil Finn)are down under.
Great to hear that Peter Jackson has chosen Neil for this task

  3. According to this page on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enya_discography) Enya's highest charting single in the USA was "Only Time" at #2, the same as Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" which also reached #2 in the US.

    Just sayin'..
